Portsmouth River Days is held each year beginning the Thursday before Labor Day. The festival opens on Thursday and runs through Labor Day Monday. River Days is held on the riverfront and in the adjacent historic Boneyfiddle district of Portsmouth, Ohio. There is free nightly entertainment on the riverfront stage including a national act on Thursday and Saturday, arts and crafts, mid-way rides and more. Late model racing Friday and Saturday nights at Portsmouth Raceway Park. The Grand Parade is Ohio's largest daytime parade and begins at 11:00a.m. on Saturday morning with the Little Miss Pageant at Shawnee State University's Vern Riffe Center for the Arts at 3:00p.m. with the Queens Pageant following at 6:30p.m. on Saturday night. The boat races on the river have also returned. The festival ends on Sunday night with our Fireworks Extravaganza at 10:00p.m and the annual Antique and Collector Car Show on Monday from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm.
