Shelby Hammond, Miss River Days 2024
My name is Shelby Hammond and I represented Wheelersburg High School. I am the daughter of Micah Riffe from Wheelersburg. My platform is "Living With No Shame." I actively participate in cheerleading and plan to attend Shawnee State University to pursue a nursing degree. River Days pushed me to not be afraid to tell others my story. Before this opportunity I was scared of what people would think about me. I have learned that sharing my struggles can help another person feel less alone. River Days gave me a voice and I will never stop spreading my story because of it.

Kate Mantell, 2nd Runner-Up
My name is Kate Mantell and I represented South Webster High School. I am the daughter of Lindsay and Jason Mantell. Throughout high school, I have been actively involved in cross country, cheer, select choir, and musicals. My platform, Different Not Less, is something I am incredibly passionate about, as it allows me to advocate for inclusion and understanding. After graduation, I plan to attend Shawnee State University and pursue a career in education as an intervention specialist. One of my favorite experiences during River Days was having the opportunity to make a positive and lasting impact on my community at just 18 years old.
