Miss Northwest - Bella Dettwiller

Hello!  My name is Bella Dettwiller and I am honored to be Miss Northwest 2024.  I have been born and raised in Mohawk Country my entire life, and I love this community with everything in me.  I am grateful for the love and support I have received so far, and I am excited to represent this district with pride.

I cherish the bond I share with my family, which includes my supportive parents, Lee and Beth Dettwiller, and my little brother, Brady.  My family has always been a huge part of my life, from attending every ball game and marching band competition, to sitting through every concert, I wouldn’t be who I am without them.  Their endless love and encouragement fuel my ambition and inspire me to reach for the stars.

Participating in various activities and interests within my community has not only helped me form many friendships and community ties but has also taught me valuable life lessons.  From the spirited atmosphere of cheerleading to the serene greens of the golf course, I find joy and fulfillment in every endeavor I pursue.  As a member of the Northwest Marching Mohawks, Northwest Concert Band, and Select Choir, I express my love for music, showcasing my talents and dedication through captivating performances.  My commitment to service shines through my involvement in IMPACT Prevention and yearbook, where I actively contribute to initiatives aimed at fostering a positive and inclusive school environment.  Beyond my school activities, I am deeply rooted in my church community, actively participating in West Union Christian Union Church and volunteering my time and talents at Mt. Hope Bible Camp.  My faith drives me to serve others with compassion and humility, leaving a lasting impact on those around me.
As your 2024 Miss Northwest, I intend to use my passion for reading and my personal experience with my grandfather’s struggle with illiteracy to promote my platform, “Next Paige,” which reflects my commitment to foster literacy and nurture a love for reading in children.  With a firm belief in the transformative power of books, I am dedicated to ensuring that every child has access to quality literature, regardless of their background or circumstances.  Through book drives, reading programs, and community outreach, I strive to empower young minds and unlock their full potential. I strongly believe that proficient reading skills can unlock a world of opportunities and positively transform a child's life, enabling them to realize their fullest potential.  While it creatively incorporates my middle name, Paige, the title of my platform signifies the belief that everyone deserves another opportunity. With each page turned, individuals have the chance to persevere and grow, because their story is far from over.

I’m truly honored and excited to serve as Miss Northwest 2024.  I look forward to advocating for my platform, sharing my talents, and serving as a positive role model for those in our community, and I am determined to make a meaningful impact and leave a legacy defined by kindness, empowerment, and positivity. Go Mohawks!
